Are walk-ins available ?

No. You must be a member for medical care. If you are a member use our online scheduling or call (865) 399-6026.    Members may call or message provider directly to arrange for urgent care treatment.

Do I need health insurance if I have a membership?

We think of health insurance similar to auto insurance. Auto insurance does not pay for gas tank refills, oil changes, battery replacement, etc, it does cover accidents. Health insurance is recommended for catastrophic events such as major surgical procedures, hospitalizations, or expensive medical therapies.

Can I use insurance for membership?

No. We do not accept or bill any commercial insurance. Medicare, or Medicaid. Using your Health Savings Account (HSA) may be an option for separate billable services, but current regulations do not allow HSA to be used for membership fees. Some services we refer you to (e.g. laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, specialty care) may accept your insurance.

I already pay a lot for insurance, why get your plan as well?

Traditionally, insurance companies have paid very little for primary care. As a result, primary care practices that take insurance are driven to jam-pack the schedule with patients, resulting in rushed appointments, long wait times in the waiting room, a lack of same-day or next-day appointments, high rates of primary care physician burnout and turnover, and an overall reactive approach to healthcare.

At Mbody Healthcare, your membership fee buys you an experience that is orders of magnitude different from what you would get in an insurance-based primary care practice. Our appointment times can run 30 minutes or 2 hours, depending on how much time your needs require. We pride ourselves in running on time, and in most cases allow for same-day or next-day appointments when needed. We have time not only to help you feel better when you are sick but also to invest in keeping you healthy. And by handling more of your healthcare problems ourselves and coordinating your care, we can in fact actually save you time and money. Our decision to keep our patient panel small is a key factor that allows direct access to providers and tight oversight of your medical care.

The only additional money you pay per year for this high-quality experience is your membership fee. All the rest of your healthcare – labs (aside from those included in your plan), imaging tests, specialist referrals – gets billed through insurance by the entities who perform the services–same as it always has.
